Building relationships and trust, also known as BRT in short is a quintessential practice for any business.

I’ve listed some key steps to help strengthen business relationships regardless of the business:

  1. Be Genuine.
    This principle often goes overlooked, but it is vital to BRT. Another way to describe “genuine” is sincerity, and authenticity. Be true to yourself and be your best self.
  2. Smile.
    Smiling is contagious and it breaks down barriers to build trust.
  3. Care.
    People need to know you care about them and their circumstance before they can begin to trust you. When you know someone cares about you, relationships are strengthened, and when relationships are strengthened, trust grows.
  4. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
    At the end of the day treat others the way you want to be treated. This is true in all aspects of life not just business.
