This post is part of FreshLime’s newest blog segment, highlighting local businesses and finding out what they’re doing to make their business succeed!

This week we interviewed Trevor, owner and founder of Bad Apple.

What is your business? Bad Apple. We do cell phone and tablet repair in Utah.

What sets you apart from others like you in your community? We try to really focus on what will benefit our customers and community in general, through our advertising. For example, we offer free charging stations in public areas. They’re branded to our business for advertising, but they’re beneficial (and free) for the public.

How long have you been in business? 5.5 years

How many employees do you have? We currently have 54, all working in our stores and warehouse.

What’s your favorite thing about owning a business? Watching it grow. It’s fun to see how far you’ve come from doing all the work yourself, to having actual stores and employees to help you.

What’s the hardest thing about owning a business? Being able to take 54 personalities(employees) into account when making decisions. It’s a lot of responsibility to think of everyone personally to make sure you’re looking out for everyone’s best interest.

Why did you decide to start your own business? It was out of accident. I already had a career and wasn’t planning on starting something new. This started as more of a hobby and then became my new career.

What advice would you give someone looking to start up their own business? Never burn bridges, relationships with the right people can make or break your business.

What is your secret sauce for success? Probably our supply chain.

We hope that Trevor’s answers are helpful to all of you small business owners and entrepreneurs. Don’t forget to check out his website before you go!
