Red Herring has been selecting the most exciting and promising start-ups since 1995 for their prestigious Top 100 list. During the last several months, hundreds of companies in the fields of security, Web 2.0, software, hardware, life sciences, cloud, mobile and others submitted applications to qualify for the award. Finalists were evaluated on the following criteria – addressable market size, business model viability, IP and patents, financing, growth/revenue projections, proof of concept, the competitive landscape, the management team, and the big picture in the business sector.

“It’s an honor and a validation to be included as a finalist in the Red Herring Top 100 list again this year,” said FreshLime CEO Jay Bean. “We are passionate about building out the best marketing attribution solutions for small businesses, and the fact that Red Herring recognizes our disruption in this marketplace is exciting.”

“The finalists’ list confirms the excellent choices made by entrepreneurs and VCs and the start-ups’ solid roots in corporate America, embracing their innovations. By all metrics, it emphasizes the United States’ entrepreneurial excellence,” said Alex Vieux, publisher and CEO of Red Herring.

Jay Bean, CEO of FreshLime will be presenting at the Red Herring North America Forum in Newport Beach, CA., on Wednesday June 8th as part of the final round of criteria. The Top 100 final winners will be announced during a special awards ceremony that evening.
