Summer sales are about to be in full swing, and sales professionals everywhere are gearing up for a successful season. There are many things to take into consideration when preparing a “toolkit” as a sales professional. Thinking of the most important things to set yourself up for success starts with customer service and satisfaction. We all know that sales go deeper than just peaking someone’s interest in your services or products, and the best way to create that depth is to build a relationship with them so they become a loyal customer.

When you send someone a text, there is about a 90% chance that they will read it. With a statistic like that, it’s hard to ignore the fact that texting builds relationships. As a salesperson, you should never show up to a home empty handed. If someone does not answer or doesn’t have the time to chat right away, leave them with a physical reminder about you and your business so they can quickly and easily reach you at their convenience. Having a strategy in place for what you will say when a potential customer texts you is another important piece of your toolkit puzzle for summer sales.

Meeting your customers where they want you to starts with taking your conversation to the place that is most convenient for them: Texting. People prefer texting over other forms of communication, both for personal and business conversations now and salespeople should embrace that. After all, it makes conversations easier on you, too!
